Maputo Port Expansion (Master Plan)

Objective

The new Master Plan draws a roadmap for the Port of Maputo beyond 2043, with volumes expected to grow to 42 million tonnes per year in 2033 and 54 million tonnes per year in 2043

Description

Expansion of container terminal, volumes ramp up above 1 Million TEU • New berth 15 - 17 (1.2 km quay) for mixed bulk • New rail connection and siding to berths 15-17 • Space reservation for power barge tying into national grid • Development of LNG import terminal with new jetty, 4.9 MTPA capacity. • Expansion of TCM to 12 MTPA capacity • Additional fuel berth with 3.7 MTPA capacity
