Objective
The primary objective of Tanger Med port as a transhipment hub is to facilitate the transfer of cargo between vessels, especially those carrying containerized goods, moving between different regions and destinations. It aims to become the largest transshipment port around the Mediterranean Sea, efficiently handling cargo transfers for traffic flows between the Mediterranean region and markets on both sides of the Atlantic and Asia Description

The APM Terminals MedPort Tangier port in Morocco has undergone multiple expansion phases to increase its capacity. Phase 2, completed in late 2023, added 1 million TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) of capacity. Phase 3, which became operational in December 2024, further increased capacity by another 1 million TEU, bringing the total to 5.2 million TEU Capacities
