Description

The Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) is a major Mexican government project aiming to connect the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans through the narrow Isthmus of Tehuantepec, providing an alternative to the Panama Canal. The project involves modernizing and expanding the railway system, ports, and highways to establish a dynamic trade route for cargo and passengers, stimulating economic development in southern Mexico and creating new industrial parks along the corridor
