The Iraq Development Road (Dry Canal) is a strategic infrastructure project launching as of 2025/2026 to link the Grand Faw Port on the Persian Gulf to Turkey via 1,200 km of high-speed rail and highways, aiming to rival Suez Canal routes. Major international investments, including a $19.9 billion commitment from Turkey and involvement from Qatar and the UAE, aim to transform Iraq into a global logistics hub, with total investment potential exceeding $100–$150 billion across three phases through 2050.
