Banjul Port 4th Expansion Project

Objective

The overall project objective is to enhance The Gambia’s regional competitiveness and ensure climate resilience of the Port of Banjul. The specific development objectives of the Banjul port 4th expansion project are to: i) reduce the ship waiting time ii) provide additional capacity iii) improve port efficiency, iv) facilitate improved traffic flow; and v) maintain cost-effective and reliable ferry services.

Description

The project involves extending the port jetty by 345 meters to accommodate up to three ships simultaneously instead of one currently. It also includes digitizing information and communication processing system
