Objective

This expansion forms part of AD Ports Group’s strategic vision to grow Khalifa Port’s handling capacity to 15 million TEUs per year and 25 million tonnes of general cargo by 2030. In addition to infrastructure enlargement, the port’s development has also integrated drydock services and logistics facilities to serve both regional and international clients

Description

Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi has undergone a major expansion programme to enhance its capacity, connectivity, and role as a leading global deep-water port. The UAE President formally inaugurated a Dh 4 billion (AED 4 billion) expansion project, through which the port’s area grew significantly from about 2.43 km² to 8.63 km², and its quay wall was extended from approximately 2.3 km to 12.5 km, enabling a larger number of berths and enhanced logistical capabilities. The port now offers 21 berths and a broad range of bespoke services for strategic industries, underlining its status among the world’s most advanced deep-water ports. The expansion of Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi is being funded through a combination of investments from AD Ports Group and its strategic international partners, most notably CMA CGM Group and COSCO SHIPPING Ports
