Objective
The impact of the Project is a well-functioning integrated road transport system in Yunnan Province and the rest of the GMS. This will be achieved by developing an efficient, safe, and environmentally sustainable regional transport system to facilitate the movement of goods and people within Yunnan, and between the PRC and GMS countries.
Description
The project expressway is an important section of the Chengdu–Kunming corridor, one of the eight western development corridors. The traffic volume on the project expressway is expected to grow from 8,150 passenger car units (pcu) per day in 2013 to 22,350 pcu per day in 2023 and 42,670 pcu per day in 2032.
