Objective

The objective of the larger project is to create a road transport corridor linking north-east Thailand through Lao PDR to Da Nang Port in Viet Nam.

Description

The Lao component consists of 78 km of Road No. 9 between Maung Phin and the border with Viet Nam. The Vietnamese component consisted of: (i) civil works for reconstruction of 83 km of National Highway Road No. 9 (NH9) between Lao Bao and Dong Ha on the north–south Highway 1, including an upgrading of Dong Ha Bypass (8.9 km long to the north of the town).
