Objective

Description

Second uncertain phase of the Trans-Myanmar Railway Linking China to Bay of Bengal. The railway is planned to connect Kunming, the capital of China’s southern Yunnan province, to the Indian Ocean. It is part of the larger China-Myanmar railway plan

History

As early as 1938, the British planned to build the Yunnan–Burma railway to connect British rule in Burma with Yunnan Province, but were unable to complete the project
