Forest City

Objective

Description

Development of a large mixed-use city on four planned artificial islands off Tanjung Kupang in southern Johor. The project combines land reclamation, housing, commercial and office space, hotels, schools, leisure facilities, roads and supporting urban infrastructure. Only Island 1 has been substantially reclaimed and developed; the remaining masterplan is incomplete. Forest City has subsequently been repositioned as a duty-free island and Special Financial Zone.
