Description

A major new 233.6 km railway in Southern Mongolia (Tavantolgoi–Gashuun Sukhait) connects the Tavan Tolgoi coal mine directly to the Chinese border, significantly increasing export capacity. A critical, final cross-border, dual-gauge connection, designed to bridge the 8 km gap between Gashuun Sukhait (MN) and Gantsmod (CN), is scheduled to begin construction in April 2025, with completion aimed for 2028.
