Objective

The project will ensure better connectivity for the Zhambyl Oblast section of CAREC Transport Corridor 1. The 65-km Taraz bypass section is integral to the transport corridor, connecting the oil-rich western part of the country to its southeast and beyond

Description

The project is a vital part of a broader government investment program to improve over 2,700 kilometers of roads along the CAREC Corridor 1, which passes through Kazakhstan from the People's Republic of China, all the way to the Russian Federation's western border.
